Our Mission
The Community Appearance Department’s primary objective is to keep the right-of-ways and landscaping around City properties as well maintained and aesthetically pleasing as possible.
Duties include but are not limited to:
City right of way maintenance: mowing grass, vegetation control along city right of way
Cut back city right of way (bushes, hedges, etc.) for safety and visibility of roads
Trim overhanging/low limbs & dead tree removal from city right of way
Landscaping of city properties and city landscape beds
Grounds maintenance of city buildings and city properties
City right of way litter control
Perpetual care of Oak Hill & Westview Cemetery
Grounds maintenance for all city parks
Clearing of storm debris/fallen trees, etc along city right of way
Pick up illegal dumps within city upon City Manager request
Displaying of banners/flags for holidays and special events
Decorating for the Christmas season, displaying Christmas fixtures, Christmas trees, etc.
