Talladega to host e-recycling event
October 10, 2024
(Talladega, AL) The City of Talladega semi-annual E-Recycling Day event at Wehadkee Yarn Mills on West Battle Street will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“People are becoming increasingly cognizant of the importance of protecting the environment,” said City Manager Derrick Swanson. “Fortunately, our e-recycling events assist residents in disposing of thousands of pounds of unwanted electronics that would otherwise end up in landfills.”
City Clerk Joanna Medlen, who has spearheaded the e-recycling drive since 2019, added, “Prior to our e-recycling event, we always encourage community members to begin setting aside unwanted electronic items. Given the ever-increasing number of electronic gadgets being produced, promoting recycling and hosting an E-Recycling Day is more important than ever before.”
Items accepted include computers, monitors, keyboards, cables, power supplies, printers, cell phones, printer cartridges, televisions, Christmas lights, hair dryers, curling irons, microwaves, VCRs, DVD players, telephones, battery backups, scanners, extension cords and small household appliances.
