(Talladega, AL) First Bank of Alabama presented the City of Talladega with a $5,000 donation for Christmas on the Square (COTS) 2023, which will be held December 8 - 10, 2023.  Prior to COTS, the community is invited to attend the city’s annual tree lighting ceremony on Monday, December 4, at 4 p.m. on the courthouse square.

“Entering into our multi year support of Christmas on the Square, we recognize the importance of spreading the Christmas joy in this wonderful community. For 175 years, Talladega has been home and home it will always be,” said First Bank of Alabama President and CEO Chad Jones. “We are overjoyed with the spirit this season brings and First Bank of Alabama seeks to maintain the ‘true reason for the season’. I look forward to seeing all the smiling faces and hearing the laughter throughout the square as our hometown celebrates Christmas!”

“We are so appreciative of First Bank of Alabama for helping to bring joy to Talladega by supporting Christmas on the Square every year,” said City Manager Seddrick Hill Sr. “Thanks to our dedicated partners and volunteers, the city is able to provide free skating, movies, Santa photos, holiday train rides and other memorable activities for our community each year during Christmas on the Square.”

Christmas on the Square highlights include free movies at Talladega’s Historic Ritz Theatre during Christmas on the Square. On Friday, December 8, the Ritz will host the Polar Express Movie and Best Pajama Contest at 6 p.m.  There will be hot chocolate, cookies, prizes, fun with Santa and Mrs. Claus and more.

Movie times for Saturday, December 9:  Frozen at 11 a.m., Frozen ll at 2 p.m., and This Christmas at 6 p.m.

Movie times for Sunday, December 10: Elf at 1 p.m. and Animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas at 4 p.m.
