City of Talladega receives outpouring of support for Christmas on the Square

(Talladega, AL) The City of Talladega has received an outpouring of support from local businesses, organizations and individuals eager to help bring joy to the community during Christmas on the Square, which will be held December 13 - 15, 2024.

“Christmas on the Square has grown to become not just a local tradition, but an annual event celebrated by families across the region,” said Alabama Power Community Relations Manager Steve Marlowe, who recently presented a donation to the city. “Alabama Power recognizes the importance of community and is proud to support Christmas on the Square as it ushers in the holiday season.”

“We are so appreciative of the community partnerships that enable the city to present such an uplifting and eagerly-anticipated event each year,” said City Manager Derrick Swanson.  “Thanks to our sponsors and volunteers, we are able to provide a wealth of fun, free activities for children, families and individuals from near and far.”

The theme of this year’s Christmas on the Square will be A Dickens Christmas in Talladega.  Highlights of the free annual celebration include ice skating, Santa’s Workshop crafts, holiday train rides, food trucks, vendors, photos with Santa, live music and holiday movies, including the Polar Express Movie and Best Pajama Contest at the Historic Ritz Theatre.
