City of Talladega CareerLIFE interns honored

(Talladega, AL) In 2022, the City of Talladega formed a partnership with CareerLIFE to help cultivate success in students and retain local talent via internships, co-ops and workforce development.

CareerLIFE founders Calvin Littlejohn and Andre Lee recently hosted the 3rd annual Project: Launch Closing Ceremony.  The City of Talladega's 2024 Interns included Olomidara Olukayode, Abigail Osunde, Jordan Patton, Taejah Crowe, Kedeina Cunningham, Tyrike Andrews, Temesgn Tezera, Christian Dixon, Lamont Shanklin, and Amayla Sharif.

In addition to honoring Talladega College students who recently completed internships with the city, they recognized Thai Fowell and other former interns.  Thai, who was hired as an administrative clerk in the city’s finance department in 2022, was recently promoted to revenue officer.  The St. Lucia, West Indies native was a member of the inaugural class to complete the city’s CareerLIFE internship program.  She graduated magna cum laude from Talladega College in 2022, earning a Bachelor of Arts in business administration with a concentration in finance and banking. She is pursuing a Master of Science in computer information systems at her alma mater.

“It has been a true pleasure to work with the City of Talladega. Working with our interns has proven to be overly beneficial. Our CareerLIFERS walk away from their respective experiences much further along in their professional development and corporate agility,” said Littlejohn. “Additionally, we value our continued partnership with the City of Talladega and the opportunities to connect students to careers and community.”
